Maintenance Services Offered

Overview

Starkstrom is a leading provider of hospital maintenance with over 150 hospital sites covered by a Starkstrom maintenance contract. This cover includes for Isolated Power Supplies, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Operating Room Lights, Theatre Control Panels, Medical Service Pendants, Audiovisual solutions, and Ultra Clean Canopies.   Maintenance is provided through a single contract covering your entire product range with guaranteed preferential response times which will reduce administration costs and clinical down time. Maintenance contracts are available at various service levels to suit your specific requirements.

Starkstrom understands the continuing financial challenges presented to all healthcare providers and service bundle discounts are available where 2 or more of our products are installed. Starkstrom can provide customer-tailored solutions to meet the specific requirements and this is not limited to our own products.

By offering to maintain a large number of equipment in the high care parts of the hospital, Starkstrom will eliminate your requirement to coordinate a large number of services providers’ activities, thus reducing your cost and disruption to your services.

Starkstrom has extensive experience of maintenance and repair of a range of products provided by other manufacturers.

24 hour telephone support

An emergency 24/7 Telephone Support service is employed by Starkstrom, manned by senior Technical Managers within Starkstrom and not through a Call Centre. This facility is available to all Clients to provide an immediate response to any information or fault requests and to initiate a rapid response service to minimize downtime, reduce costs and reinstate patient critical services. The telephone support team has direct access to our team of Engineers for immediate dispatch to site, where required.

 

Engineering Expertise

Starkstrom provides skilled Engineers who are all apprenticed or have passed recognized BTEC or NVQ training courses. In addition, all Engineers are provided with external training to gain qualifications in:

  • 17th Edition of the I.E.E.Regulations (BS 7671)
  • BS 2391
  • BS 2392
  • MEIGaN

Additionally, all Engineers undergo extensive internal product training and have an unrivalled knowledge of the complete product range prior to becoming responsible for working on Client installations. Each engineer has his own van with a well researched extensive spares kit to allow improved rates of first fix. In addition, Starkstrom holds full spares stock at its two UK premises.

Whilst our engineers are on site we encourage site representatives to shadow the engineer to gain a level of experience in dealing with the equipment to assist in the reporting of any future faults.

  • 6 clock hours response to fault calls.
  • All parts, labour and travel included.

Silver solution

  • 8 working hours response to fault calls.
  • All parts, labour and travel included.

Bronze solution

  • 8 working hours response to fault calls.
  • All call out parts, labour and travel excluded

Remote Monitoring

Using the recently developed REMOS System ( REmote MOnitoring System) Starkstrom can monitor any equipment with an alarm function in the hospital for any fault. The example of the faults may be, but not limited to:

  • notification of power failure
  • reporting a blown reserve lamp in the clinical lighting,
  • low batteries in the battery backup
  • malfunctioning uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)
  • dirty hepa filter in your Ultra Clean Canopy
  • blood fridge not cooling
  • clinical lighting not functioning
  • IPS over current
  • When a fault occurs we get a message and have a number of options, as standard we notify the customer representative of the location and nature of the fault and they investigate, however additional options are available including automatic on site attendance
